Happy hour watching the sunset from caravan park Evans Head
A nice getway to Canungra for 9 days!
First trip in our new van.
Love my travels. The best things in life are free
Fishing the mighty McCather River in NT is always a challenge, especially when sharks get half your tea.
May 2017 saw us travel with friends From Brisbane to WA and the Kimberley area. With 4 adults in the Challenger we could only take a limited amount of facilities however we managed to stay for 2 nights. While there we walked the trek around the Beehives and into Cathedral Gorge. Not easy for me with 2 bad knees but I made it and loved every minute. It was an experience I will never forget, it was awesome.
My memorable experience was in Aug 2017 when I made a bus trip to Mt Buller from Mansfield, Vic where I played in snow for the very first time of my age at 65 yrs. It was so magical having snow falling on you, being invluded in building a snowman and so on. A adventure I would love to do again, this time sharing with a friend or two.
Another incident that happened that day just before I was to catch the return bus was that I slipped and fracturing my left wrist, hence spending a few hours late afternoon at Mansfield Hospital.
Definitely an event, few days that I will never forget.
With snowman
One of the best places I have been so far, Cape Le Grand, spectacular beach and camp ground
On a recent trip through NSW, we called into the timber town of Wauchope. Being caught short you can always count on doing it with friends.
After 4 years of converting our bus into a motorhome, this was our first trip away to Thornton in Queensland. It definitely called for some celebrations.
Staying at Maaroom caravan park was a highlight, I was astounded at how peaceful it was with so many visiting Kangaroos daily that where just beautiful to watch. All this while still close to Marybourgh.
My best mates camping trip
My photo of Maroom
My first night stopover on the Nullabor Plain. A very memorable photo. A panorama shot of the sun setting in front of me and a rainbow and shower behind me.

I was doing dishes outside the van at Warroora Station in WA , when this beautiful man turned up to help.

In life there is always “A First time for Everything” and this is just another first. First time away in our Motorhome, first time at Lake Elphinstone Queensland and first damper (garlic, cheese and chives…yum) cooked in our first camp oven…what a life
This is what the finished damper looked like and trust me it didn’t last long….eaten in a frenzy
Boy was it cold, camping out about 50km south of Finke it had rained all the day before and the clouds cleared overnight and the temperature dropped to minus 10c we had ice on top of the sleeping bags inside the tent, couldn’t get away early had to wait for everything to warm up so we could pack away
The Warrumbungle National Park was so breathtaking.
Enjoying Lightning Ridge. So much to see and do in the area from mine tours, exploring the Car Door Tours, 3 Pubs in the Scrub, the Artesian Bore Baths, free Opal fossicking areas and of course Happy Hour with friends at 1st Shaft Lookout.
We recently enjoyed our first family camping holiday at a ‘children’s paradise’ campground and we had soo much fun ( the kids too) and we made some wonderful memories… that will never be forgotten..
On holiday last year at Ayres Rock with one of our Daughters, watching the changing colours of the rock.
I did not realise that Australia had built bunkers so far inland for protection in the case of a Japanese invasion. These are at at Towers Hill just out of Charters Towers taken during our trip in 2016.
Had an amazing day kayaking on Lake Hume and was sitting outside our camper after dinner relaxing and had to capture this amazing sunset, the mix of rain clouds and the sunset was an amazing sight.
Ah the serenity
Camped on Cooloola beach with the sea breeze and fish for the plate!
Man and beast at Wandoan QLD ANZAC day memorial gathering.
A town needing a hand in hard times but with great people and a fantastic outlook
This was what greeted us on a stop over near Serina QLD
Told a story of what a great day lay ahead for us to tour the sights in the area .
Well worth the stop over
